TSAM EKIDEN (RELAY) EVENT
This event is only open to employees of Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM).

TEAM RELAY
Each Team to consist of of 4 runners.
Option 1 – MEN’s Team
Option 2 – WOMEN’s Team
Option 3 – Mixed Tean (*combination of Men and Women)
For the Ekiden Trials (Relay) event, each runner in the team needs to complete a 2.4km lap before handing over the batton to the next team member.

ONLINE ENTRY SYSTEM
1. Each team must nominate a Team Captain.
2. Each team nust choose a Team Name.
3. Each team member consents to sharing their personal information with the Team Captain for entry sign-up.
4. The Team Captain will be responsible for entering the team members details IN FULL.
5. The Team Captain will be responsible for collecting the Team’s Race Pack and Baton on Race Day.

NOTE: TSAM Staff Access Cards will be required in order to gain access.

Only TSAM staff will be permitted access.
No children
No family
No friends
No animals

RACE PACK COLLECTION
Gates will only open from 06:00
Race Pack Collection times – 06:30 to 07:30

On entry to the TSAM Running Track your Team Captain will collect:
1. A race pack which includes your Race BIBs / Race Numbers & safety pins
2. A team baton

RACE BIB / NUMBER
This MUST be pinned to the FRONT of your shirt
It contains a timing chip which must be visible or your times may not be recorded

INDIVIDUAL TIMES
Although this is a relay event, timing will be tracked both; individually and as a Team. The individual results for both JHB and DBN trials will be consolidated, and top 30 Women and top 30 Men will gain entry to the Finals on the 14th September 2025. The Top 30 lists will be shared in the week after the trials.

RELAY GUIDE
1. Each runner to complete the 2.4km route before handing over the Baton.
2. The Team Baton MUST be carried by the runner while running. 
3. Runner 1 to race with the baton and hand it to Runner 2, etcetera.
